Helix Nebula, NGC 7293. A planetary nebula in the constellation Aquarius. This is one of the closest nebulae to earth. The star in the center is the one which gave off the gases to form the nebula.

Distance: 450 light years
Size: Bright portion is 3 light years across

Mount: Astro-Physics Mach1 GTO with Advanced Telescope Systems portable pier
Images: 100 subexposures at 10 minutes each with 29 blue, 27 green,30 red, and 14 luminance for a
                 total exposure of 10 hours and 30 minutes.
